On occasion, I remember my grandmother’s suitable sayings that are full of wisdom and teachings and are as applicable today as they were yesterday. These sayings are life lessons that echo in our familial memory. We’ve all heard them. “Don’t but all your eggs in one basket!” “Two heads are better than one.” And so forth and so on. In this series, I reflect on some of our elder’s most fitting sayings that have been passed on from one generation to the next (leaving out some of the more personal ones, such as, the importance of wearing clean underwear in case of an auto accident!). The paintings invite viewers to remember the wise words of past that can help us navigate our present.
