THE GOLDEN YEARS
Using working seniors as subjects, I created a series of mixed media paintings:crossing guard, grocery bagger, substitute teacher, cook, etc. I find their grit and determination inspirational. What emotional, intellectual and physical fortitude it must take to commit to working so that they can live their lives in place with dignity! This series was produced with the support of the Pinellas Community Foundation and Creative Pinellas as part of the Pinellas Community Foundation ACT II Artist Grant

I was one of the 100+ artists invited to do a Sugar Skull (mine's called Brown Sugar Lady) for the show. Boy, was that fun! Plus, it's a fundraiser for the children's program (which appeals to the teacher in me). I also submitted an entry for the national juried show and work from my "In and Out of Time" mixed media series was accepted.
